Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr. the Hon. Christopher Tufton (centre), is shown medical equipment and supplies, donated to support the Government for Jamaica’s COVID-19 response, by Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Advisor, Emergency Preparedness and Response, Dr. Marion Bullock DuCasse. The supplies, valued at approximately $11.94 million (US$78,694.67), were provided by the United States (US) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the PAHO/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO). They were formally handed over to Dr. Tufton during a brief presentation ceremony at the PAHO/WHO Country Office, University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona Campus, St. Andrew, on Thursday (October 13). Others (from left) are PAHO/WHO Representative for Jamaica, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, Ian Stein; US CDC Country Director for Jamaica and the Caribbean Regional Programme, Dr. Emily Kainne Dokubo; and Senior Medical Officer, Bustamante Hospital for Children, Dr. Michelle-Ann Richards-Dawson.
