The Jamaica Information Services’ (JIS) Public Relations and Marketing Department is one of the most dynamic PR & Marketing facilities within the Public Sector. The Department conceptualizes and executes public education campaigns and advertising programmes aimed at promoting a better understanding of the Government’s policies and programmes. The Department also provides services to non-governmental organizations including corporate entities and international agencies. The department is referred to as the “engine” of the JIS, because it is uniquely positioned to drive output across all the production departments, including Radio, TV, Photo, Publications and Computer Services.

The PR and Marketing Department facilitates the execution of a wide array of media and communications services that are provided by other departments (Radio, TV, Publications, Research, Computer Services and Photo).

Online Advertising and streaming (live and delayed streaming of special events)

How Can We Help You?
The PR & Marketing Department serves as the first point of contact for clients and prospective clients of the JIS. The department provides and facilitates a wide variety of communications services including:
Developing and executing strategic PR campaigns/programmes
Generating information from Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government, to guide production departments
Delivering comprehensive reports at the end of each campaign or programme
Requesting and Scheduling Interviews on commercial media
Providing strategic PR advice and consultation services to MDAs and non-core clients
Coordinating tailored media/public awareness packages/programmes to meet clients’ needs
Planning and executing special events including press conferences, meetings and launches
Media Centre Management—Managing media relations for events including the issuing of press advisories, confirmation of coverage and managing media relations for clients at their events
Scripting and producing electronic and print advertisements and Public Service Announcements (PSAs) and writing news releases and features
Organizing and hosting Think Tank session(s) to generate publicity about special programmes/policies
Facilitating Advertising and Media Buying services—Develop advertising campaigns and handle placement of ads in commercial media
Producing and Placing News Supplements/Features in the newspapers- (we coordinate the production of special supplements for company anniversaries and other commemorative events)
