Cinematograph Authority

Cinematograph Authority regulates films for distribution and exhibition in public cinemas. The Authority views all films and attaches a rating based on local standards. This protects vulnerable audiences, especially children, from being exposed to inappropriate content.

In addition to the regulation of films, the Authority oversees the inspection of facilities, to ensure that appropriate measures are in place to ensure the safety of patrons, prevent fires and other accidents, and that there is general compliance with health standards.

The Authority is governed by a chairperson and a five member committee.
