Acting Special Projects Manager, Jamaica Information Service (JIS), Charnele Henry (centre), joins children from the Sandy Park community in their rehearsal of the Jamaican folk song, ‘Linstead Market’ during the Teach the Youth Programme Culture Day activities at the Sandy Park New Testament Church of God in St. Andrew on Wednesday (July 19). For two weeks, children from the community gathered at the church, where they were engaged in academic and personal development activities under the summer programme, which is organised by the University of Technology (UTech) Students Union. The JIS is a sponsor of the initiative. Other beneficiary communities include Highlight View, Tavern, Kintyre, August Town and Hermitage.
