Immaculate Conception High copped the first place in the competition. Their project focused on conservation of tissue, water and electricity in their school. The Secondary Schools’ Productivity Improvement Project aimed to expose students to the concept of continuous improvement, in an effort to raise their level of understanding of productivity. The programme taught students and teachers about the concept of continuous improvement and apply it to their school environment over 11 weeks.

The money will be used to carry out repairs at the Garland Hall Memorial Children’s Home in Anchovy, St. James. The Garland Hall Memorial Children’s Home is a privately-run orphanage for youngsters who have been made vulnerable either through family death, deprivation, abuse or negligence and are being cared for by persons associated with the Baptist Church. It caters to children aged two to18 years old. The Grandy’s are in the island to recruit additional farm workers to complement Jamaicans already employed on their farm.
