Work is slated to begin on the new Westmoreland police divisional headquarters in the new financial year.

The project has been allocated $465 million in the 2023/24 Estimates of Expenditure, now before the House of Representatives.

Construction of the new divisional headquarters in Westmoreland forms part of the Government’s efforts to provide improved facilities for the police.

For the upcoming fiscal year, it is anticipated that 20 per cent of construction activities will be completed.

The project, which is being implemented by the Ministry of National Security, is being financed from the Consolidated Fund. It is projected for completion in March 2024.

The Estimates were tabled in the House of Representatives on February 14 by Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Dr. the Hon. Nigel Clarke.

They will be considered by the Standing Finance Committee of the House, beginning March 1.
