The Full Story

In April 2021, Bank of Jamaica invited creatives to come up with a suitable name, tagline, logo and representative image for its Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). We thank those who answered the call and submitted entries for this competition.

The Bank is pleased to announce the winners of the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) Name, Tagline and Logo Competitions.

We congratulate Ms. Ashley Payne, the winner of both the CBDC Name Contest and Tagline Contest. Ms.Payne received $350,000 and $250,000 for her respective entries, as well as, $25,000 CBDC, for each entry, transferred to her National Commercial Bank digital wallet.

We also congratulate Mr. Gerrard Harvey who won for his entry in the logo segment of the competition. Mr. Harvey received $350,000 and $25,000 CBDC credited to his National Commercial Bank digital wallet.

There was no winner for the image design segment of the competition.The winning entries will be revealed once the relevant registration and copyright processes have been completed. The national roll out of the Central Bank Digital Currency remains on schedule for the first quarter of 2022.
