Jamaicans adding a new dimension to the Boston Globe Travel Show, which will take place from February 11 to 13, 2011, at the Seaport World Trade Centre in Boston, Massachusetts.
Every hour on the hour, visitors to the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) booth can view Jamaica’s new three-and-a-half minute tourism video filmed entirely in 3-D – the first destination film of its kind. Viewers will be taken on a bird’s eye adventure from sunrise to sunset, while soaking up some of the island’s popular attractions.
In an interview with JIS News, Director of Tourism, John Lynch said: “This video allows us to introduce Jamaica’s scenery and activities in a way that’s never been done before. Creating a tourism video in 3-D is a challenging and exciting project, and the Boston Globe Travel Show provides a perfect opportunity to give potential visitors a virtual tour of what our island has to offer."
Visitors to the booth will also have a chance to sample coconut candy and Jamaica’s famous Blue Mountain coffee, while grooving to the reggae beat of Jam-X, who will perform live on the main stage.
Highlights of Jamaica’s presence at the Boston Globe Travel Show will include a Jamaican Limbo 101 Demonstration and the Fourth Annual Limbo Contest, which will be held on Saturday, February 12 between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 13, between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Representatives from the JTB will be on hand at Jamaica’s booth (Number 914) to provide details on accommodations, attractions and events, as well as specially priced packages.
The Travel Show is open to the public on February 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on February 12 and 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
