St. Andrew West Rural Roads Rehabilitated Under SPARK

Three parish council roads in St. Andrew West Rural, have been rehabilitated under the Shared Prosperity through Accelerated Improvement to Our Road Network (SPARK) Programme.

Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn, made the disclosure as she opened the 2026/2027 Constituency debate in the House of Representatives on Tuesday (September 22).

The roads fixed are Blue Mountain to Red Hills, Seaview Road and Castle Drive.

“I am grateful for the SPARK Programme, which is transforming communities across Jamaica,” Cuthbert Flynn told the House.

Other roads targeted for repairs are Unity to Toms River, Cavaliers to Glengoffe, Lawrence Tavern to Glengoffe, Golden Spring to McGlaushen, and Rock Hall Main Road to Parks Road and Belmont.

Mrs. Cuthbert-Flynn said that these thoroughfares connect farmers to markets, children to schools, workers to jobs and families to essential services.

“In addition, when we build roads, we are not simply pouring concrete and asphalt; we are building opportunities. We are reducing travel time, improving access, helping businesses and farmers while improving the quality of life of our people.
That is what development is supposed to do,” she stated.
