Real estate salesmen have up to May 31 to submit applications for the pre-licensing course at the Real Estate Training Institute (RETI) as the entity prepares to reopen on July 3.
The longstanding programme will be administered virtually with RETI’s introduction of a self-paced learning modality, eliminating the need for students to be in the same place at the same time for instruction.
Speaking with JIS News recently, Principal of RETI, Dr. Tina Beale, emphasised that the training is mandatory, as set out in the Real Estate (Dealers and Developers) Act.
RETI’s pre-licensing course for salesmen is open to Jamaicans and non-nationals desirous of practising real estate in the country.
Individuals can register online from RETI’s parent organisation, Real Estate Board’s website, www.reb.gov.jm/.
Dr. Beale said that candidates can expect significant changes from the institution that will enhance the quality of education that is being provided.
She stressed that as RETI continues to advance in its effort to become a viable option for persons seeking professional training, empowering the local citizenry is becoming increasingly important.
“We want to transform and uplift Jamaican’s future through real estate education, and, thereby, play a critical role in working towards the creation of sustainable livelihoods for our people,” Dr. Beale said.
RETI is also looking to make an impact regionally as it considers extending services to other Caribbean territories.
