Members of The House of Nyahbingi tribe of Rastafarians in Manchester are to receive two large shipments of hurricane recovery items from the Rastafarian Relief Fund, a Miami-based charity set up to assist members of the Rastafarian tribe worldwide.

The items, valued at over US$2,000, include non-perishable foods, personal hygiene items and clothing.

The money for the purchases was raised through the staging of three collection drives in Miami last year, to assist the Rastafarians, whose compound in Porus was extensively damaged during the hurricane last September.

Shirl Johnson of the Miami-based group, which spearheaded the collection drive, expressed gratitude to Jamaican-owned freight companies Consolidated Freight of Miami and Herbie & Sons of Fort Lauderdale, for shipping the items.
