NHF Solar System commissioning

We all need electricity to survive. It literally powers everything we do. Most importantly, when it comes to storing medication, having a reliable source of electricity is essential. Jamaica is prone to natural disasters, and having a backup source of electricity is vital. It is with this in mind that the National Health Fund (NHF) invested heavily in its own solar energy solution at its warehouse on Marcus Garvey Drive in Kingston.

NHF Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Everton Anderson says the agency is investing heavily in renewable energy solutions to build resilience against natural disasters.

The recent commissioning of the solar energy system at its pharmaceutical warehouse is a significant milestone in the organisation’s journey towards sustainability and efficiency.

Early results from the system have already demonstrated lower electricity costs, while enhancing the facility’s disaster preparedness by providing multiple backup energy sources.
