Governor General’s Diaspora Achievement Awards

Every child has the right to be safe…safe from abuse, violence, neglect and exploitation, yet too many of our children continue to be lost to violence, abuse, accidents, trafficking, and other harms. As we grieve what has been lost, we must also ask: has our transition to a modern society weakened the systems and values that once protected our children?

7 members of the Jamaican diaspora community were recognized for their contributions to the country’s growth and development, as well as outstanding service to diaspora communities at the Governor General’s Achievement Awards during the biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference.
