The people of Mavis Bank and adjoining communities and persons passing through the area are now able to access the Georges River Bridge. The bridge, located in Violet Bank, was renovated by the National Works Agency (NWA) at a cost of 21 million dollars. It’s been expanded to 36 feet and can now accommodate two large vehicles simultaneously. Prime Minister Andrew Holness has commended the NWA for the successful completion of the project, noting that the previous bridge, was an impediment for motorists.
