Welcome to another edition of the Arts Page. We’ve been exploring the reality of art imitating life as depicted by the bold cinematic piece Suga Dumplin! The short film masterfully handles the mammoth task of bridging many facets of Jamaican identity, both at home and abroad and tastefully tells of struggles that are common to many of us!
Health. Decline. Loss. Resilience, love and redemption. These are relatable themes and the way that the story is told highlights the Best Supporting Actors. The film’s narrative is uniquely framed, not by the illness, nor the patient, but through the vantage point of the others in the room.
