The Management Institute for National Development (MIND), in collaboration with the Office of the Cabinet, will host a series of Public Sector Learning Framework (PSLF) strategic engagements from January 12 to 16 at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel.

The sessions form part of the continued implementation of the PSLF, which is the mechanism designed to strengthen leadership alignment and inculcate a comprehensive fresh learning culture across the public service.

The week of activities will commence on Monday, January 12 with the PSLF Summit for Senior Human Resource Professionals, scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Human Resource (HR) leaders will engage in dialogue focused on advancing workforce professionalisation and aligning learning development strategies with the Government’s transformation agenda.

Validation sessions for the revised Government of Jamaica HR Competency Framework will be facilitated from January 13 to 15.

These sessions are expected to ensure that the framework revisions reflect the evolving needs of the public sector and support the development of a workforce equipped to deliver excellence in service well into the foreseeable future.

The series will culminate on Friday, January 16, with the PSLF Executive Round Table, which will bring together Permanent Secretaries and heads of entities from across the public service.

The Round Table, scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, will focus on strengthening leadership alignment and reinforcing the role of senior executives in sponsoring transformation priorities.

MIND’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ruby Brown, underscored the importance of these engagements, noting that they represent a critical step in embedding a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the public sector.

The PSLF, she explained, is a cornerstone initiative that ensures public officers are equipped with the competencies and leadership capacity required to meet the demands of a modernised professional public service. “The strategic engagements are expected to yield actionable insights that will guide the Government’s ongoing transformation efforts, while reinforcing the commitment to building a professional, and citizen-centred public service,” Dr. Brown said.
