Prime Minister Bruce Golding will attend two regional meetings in Mexico from February 21-23.
The Prime Minister will address the first Mexico-Caricom Summit on Sunday, February 21 where he will make a presentation on trade and development in the region. The meeting provides an opportunity for dialogue between Caricom member states and Mexico in areas of mutual interest.
Mr. Golding will then attend the two-day Summit of Unity of Latin America and the Caribbean from February 22-23. That meeting will facilitate the 2010 Rio Group Summit and also the Second Summit of Latin America and the Caribbean (CALC).
The Summit of Unity will pursue strategic relations in the areas of political coordination, cooperation, development and integration among the 23 nations of the Rio Group.
Mr. Golding returns to Jamaica on February 24. During his absence, the Minister of Water and Housing, Dr Horace Chang, will be in charge of the Government.
