Prime Minister Bruce Golding has expressed regret on the sudden passing this morning (Dec 17) of former PNP Government Minister, Ben Clare.
Mr. Golding said the former MP for Western Hanover, who served as State Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, and State Minister of National Security under the PNP government, had dedicated most of his active years to public service.
Mr. Golding recalled Mr. Clare’s many years as a career diplomat and lawyer serving as Ambassador to Cuba from 1975 to 1977, Ambassador to the then Union of Soviet Socialist Republic and non-resident Ambassador to the German Democratic Republic and Czechoslovakia.
‘He served his country and made his contribution with dedication and the government wishes to express condolences to his family and friends’, Mr. Golding said.
