PHOTOS: Team Jamaica Bickle Donates Automated Defibrillators to Schools

Minister of Education and Youth, Hon. Fayval Williams (centre), and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Kasan Troupe, engage with head of diaspora non-profit organisation, Team Jamaica Bickle (TJB), Irwine Clare, at the handover of automated external defibrillators (AED) on October 18 at the University of Technology (UTech) in St. Andrew. The devices, donated by TJB, are used to help persons experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. They will be distributed to local secondary level institutions, and training will be facilitated in the use of the devices. TJB has been an advocate for athlete development from high school through to college and beyond, for almost 30 years. The initiative to provide defibrillators to schools is aimed at improving the safety and health of young athletes in Jamaica.

The defibrillators, used to help persons experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, are to be distributed to local secondary level institutions to improve the safety and health of young athletes. Training in the use of the devices will be undertaken.
