Mr Carney, who is an information technology engineer, was appointed as the institution’s third Chancellor by the Minister of Education and Youth, Hon. Fayval Williams, on the recommendation of the University’s Council. He succeeds the late former Chancellor, the Most Hon. Edward Seaga, who died in 2019.
