Person of Interest Identified in Incident at Ocho Rios Primary School

A person of interest has been named in the incident that occurred at the Ocho Rios Primary School in St. Ann, which resulted in several students seeking medical attention.

Commissioner of Police, Major General Antony Anderson, said that the individual, who is from Mansfield Heights in Ocho Rios, is being sought for questioning as he “may be able to assist in our investigations”.

“So, we are asking him to contact the St. Ann police as soon as possible,” he noted.

Commissioner Anderson was addressing the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) quarterly virtual press conference on Tuesday (October 3).

Approximately 60 students at Ocho Rios Primary had to be taken for medical attention on October 2 after they became ill following the consumption of what is said to have been cannabis-infused sweets bought from a vendor in the school environs.
