JUTC Buses Use 17% Less Fuel on Mandela Highway

Transport, Works, and Housing State Minister, Hon. Richard Azan (centre), is presented with a cheque in the sum of $1.4 million for the Peckham community bamboo project in North West Clarendon, by Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Jamaica, His Excellency Dong Xiaojun (2nd right). The handing over ceremony was held on Tuesday (June 23) at the Ministry’s offices in Kingston. Mr. Azan is also the Member of Parliament for North West Clarendon. Sharing the occasion (from left), are: Peckham Bamboo Committee member, Andrew Carty; Socio-Economic Technical Specialist, Community Renewal Programme (CRP), Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ), Charmaine Brimm; and Senior Technical Services Director, Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ), and Bamboo and Indigenous Materials Advisory Committee Chairman, Gladstone Rose.
