New Regional Director for JTB in Canada

Sandra Scott has been appointed the new Regional Director for the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) in Canada, effective July 18.

She replaces Pat Samuels, who is leaving Toronto after nearly four years to become the JTB's European Regional Director, based in Berlin, Germany.
Miss Scott, a Jamaican by birth, comes to the JTB with over 25 years of experience in the travel and hotel industry in Canada and the Caribbean.

For the past five years, she was the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Delta Toronto East Hotel, which has 371 guest rooms. As a member of the leadership team, she was responsible for Sales, Marketing and Conference, and managed a team of 13 sales managers, conference service managers, marketing co-ordinator and support staff.

Miss Scott also spent eight years at the Embassy Suites Hotel, first as the Senior Sales Manager, then as Director of Sales and finally Director of Sales and Marketing. She has also been employed by Best Western Primrose in Toronto, Liguanea Club in Kingston, Jamaica and Hotel Intercontinental in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

The new Regional Director grew up in Boroughbridge in the parish of St. Ann and attended St. Hugh's High School in Kingston. She also attended Cornell University in the United States and George Brown College and Ryerson University in Toronto.

She is an active committee member of the St. Hugh's Past Students Association in Toronto and she was a member of several professional organizations, including North York/Richmond Hill/Toronto Chamber of Commerce, Markham/Toronto Board of Trade, Canadian Society of Association Executives and Canadian Hotel Marketing and Sales Executives.
