Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Hon Karl Samuda, speaking at a press briefing Tuesday (October 5) at the Ministry’s New Kingston Offices.

Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday (October 5) at the Ministry, New Kingston, he also noted the construction of a 40-acre informatics park, as the Government seeks to expand facilities for Information Communication and Technology (ICT).
“We are working very hard on that. The Factories Corporation of Jamaica has been assigned the responsibility, by the Cabinet, for the development of those 200 acres,” Mr. Samuda said.
He also added that the “survey plans” have been prepared, and that his Ministry is awaiting the final reports to put the lots on the market and have the development take place.
“We need to be aggressive in our approach, as we feel confident that we have a very attractive investment location and, therefore, we will be trying our very best to get our share of that investment market,” Mr. Samuda said.
