Measles Alert Activities Continue

The Ministry of Health and Environment is appealing to parents and guardians with children between the ages 1 and 6 years to ensure that these children are fully immunized against measles. Children who have never been immunized or only partly immunized must be taken to the nearest health centre or their family doctor immediately.
With the recent confirmation of a local case of measles, a child not fully immunized against the disease, the Ministry remains on high alert.
As part of its preventative strategies the Ministry will again visit some local communities on May 31 and June 1 to conduct fever and rash survey and administer the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccine. Communities are urged to cooperate with health officials who will be visiting their areas, as well as have immunization cards ready for examination. The locations to be visited on the weekend are:
