JIS to Replay Swearing-In Ceremony of Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller on Website

The Jamaica Information Service (JIS), in collaboration with Emoquad and Cable and Wireless, undertook the web casting of the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minster Portia Simpson Miller, yesterday (March 30) at 5:00 p.m.
The JIS website received an overwhelming number of hits after 5:15 p.m. The users who logged on created a massive demand on the web server, which resulted in the inability of some viewers of the online broadcast, to see the historic swearing-in ceremony in its entirety.
To facilitate viewers who were not able to log on during the live ceremony, the JIS will replay the swearing-in ceremony on its website at www.jis.gov.jm on April 1. This programme will be available until April 6, 2006.
