Jamaican Wins Senior Women’s Amateur Golf Title

Jamaican national, Diane Lang was declared winner of the 2006 United States Golf Association (USGA) Senior Women’s Amateur title on October 12, at the Sea Island Golf Club, St. Simons Island in Georgia.
This is her second consecutive success, making it the seventh time in the history of the 106 year-old tournament that a golfer has achieved a consecutive win.
A Florida resident, Miss Lang won her title from a field of more than 138 finalists from across the United States.
An avid golf player, Miss Lang began playing the game at age 13, while growing up in Kingston, and has since been competing successfully in tournaments.
Earlier this year, she was also declared winner in several games, including the Florida Senior Amateur Tournament, the Broward Amateur Golf Tournament, the Hollywood Orange Brook Tournament as well as the Weston Hills Club Championship.
