Jamaica to Host Workshop on Conflict of Interest

Jamaica will host the Commonwealth Regional ‘Conflict of Interest’ Workshop from September 27 to 28.
The two-day workshop, which will be held in Montego Bay, St. James, will provide public officials with tools to address potential conflicts of interest. They will also be invited to adopt a Code of Conduct.
The need for this workshop was identified by Law Ministers of small Commonwealth states at their 2007 meeting. Jamaica accepted the invitation from The Commonwealth to host the workshop.
Details of the upcoming workshop were disclosed by the Minister with responsibility for Information, Telecommunications and Special Projects, Hon. Daryl Vaz, at a post Cabinet press briefing, held at Jamaica house recently.
