Prime Minister Bruce Golding has asked the diplomatic community for the support of their countries and organizations as he leads economic reform in the country.
The Prime Minister said, “We are going to need your help and support in so many different areas: in areas of technical co-operation, in areas of investment promotion.. Create new streams of investment activity and growth, opening up air links, mobilizing investor interest, expanding trade, helping us to build institutional capacity so that we can have something to trade and therefore be able to participate on a more competitive basis in this global environment in which we find ourselves.”
Mr. Golding was addressing resident and visiting High Commissioners, Ambassadors, Honourary Counsels and other heads of international missions at Jamaica House on January 26 as part of Diplomatic Week arranged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.
