Investment Challenges to be Discussed at PCJ International Energy Seminar


The World Bank has been confirmed to participate at the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica’s (PCJ) Energy Seminar ‘The New Energy Agenda in Latin America and the Caribbean – Global Perspective and Regional Context’.
The seminar, which will take place at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston on July 22, 2009, will see the World Bank representative discuss the issues of investments required to achieve sustainable energy supply and available financing sources in a context of credit restrictions.
Other issues to be examined include Climate Change and Sustainability; Energy Efficiency Programmes; Biofuels Sustainability; the Importance of Governmental Policies in Driving Investments and Public-Private Partnerships.
The seminar is a joint venture between the PCJ and the Regional Association of Oil and Natural Gas Companies in Latin America and the Caribbean (ARPEL).
The activities will continue on Thursday July 23 with a Chairman’s Meeting, and Friday July 24 with ARPEL’s General Assembly at the Ritz Carlton in Montego Bay, St. James.
