Education Ministry Receives Support from UNLIREC to Combat Violence in Schools
Four-year-old Randesha Atkinson of the Wilbert Stewart Basic School in Kingston is presented with a care package by Chief Executive Officer of the Grace and Staff Community Development Foundation, Sandrina Davis (left), and Business Development Manager of the Foundation, Sujae Boswell (right). Sharing the moment is Chair of the National Child Month Committee (NCMC), Dr. Pauline Mullings. Occasion was the final activity executed by the NCMC for Child Month 2023, where over 300 packages were handed out to parents and children across the Corporate Area and St. Catherine, at the Pentecostal Gospel Temple, 111 Windward Road, Kingston on Tuesday, May 30.

The initiative is a collaboration between the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Book Fusion, to provide children with access to high-quality, interactive digital textbooks in a variety of languages, including Jamaican Sign Language.
