United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Jamaica, Denise Antonio (left, seated), assists student at the Salvation Army School for the Blind in Kingston, Nicola Anderson, in using one of several new Perkins Brailler mechanical braille writers, which the agency donated to the institution on Tuesday (March 22). The donation forms part of the UNDP’s commitment to inclusive growth and ensuring that no one gets left behind and increase the number of braille writers that the School now has at its disposal to serve students, teachers, and staff. The provisions are part of a multimillion-dollar donation of critical equipment to the school along with the Jamaica Association for the Deaf (JAD), and Combined Disabilities Association (CDA).
