The Full Story

Candidates who sat the May/June 2024 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) tests will be able to access their preliminary results in digital format.

This follows the launch of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) Electronic Preliminary Slip (e-Preslip).

An e-Preslip is a downloadable, verifiable, digital version of candidates’ results, which is available before the official release of certificates.

CXC traditionally provides candidates with a Preliminary Slip in a physical, printed format.

“For the May/June 2024 examination sitting, we will commence the transition to e-Preslips which candidates can download immediately via the online Student Portal and share with higher-education institutions or prospective employers,” CXC stated in a press release.

The authenticity of an e-Preslip can be determined by scanning a QR code.

When the code is scanned, users will be taken to a CXC-hosted website that displays the candidate’s results.

If the results on the page do not match those presented, this is an indication that the document presented has been tampered with.

Meanwhile, CXC has advised that the e-Preslip is not a certificate, and once official certificates are issued, the e-Preslips should not be utilised.

Candidates can access their e-Preslip via the student portal at https://ors.cxc.org/studentportal/.

After logging into the portal, candidates should select ‘Preview/Download Preslip’.

Thereafter, they can select “Download” to get a PDF version of the preliminary slip or choose to share that document with a verifier via email.
