Six Canadians who were involved in an incident during which their vehicle was hit by gunshots, along the Spanish Town Road, earlier this evening have been safely returned to their hotel in Montego Bay.
Following investigations by police and meetings with the Ministry of Tourism and the Jamaica Tourist Board, the Canadians made a stop at Jamaica House for a brief meeting with Prime Minister Bruce Golding, Minister with responsibility for Information Daryl Vaz, representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, the JTB and the security forces.
Prime Minister Bruce Golding gave the visitors the assurance that the government would do everything to ensure their comfort for the duration of their vacation in Jamaica. He also told them that this was an isolated case.
The Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the Denham Town CIB, Detective Inspector Coleman at 923-6443 or Crime Stoppers at 311 or 811.
