Cabinet has approved the payment of $13 million to the Port Henderson Development Company, for 0.97 acres of land.

The land was used for the construction of the old Portmore Causeway in St. Catherine, which has now been incorporated into Highway 2000.

Minister with responsibility for Information, Senator the Hon. Sandrea Falconer, gave details at a Jamaica House press briefing, held at the Office of the Prime Minister on June 13.

She informed that the land, which was owned by the Port Henderson Development Company, was mistakenly assumed to be vested in the Commissioner of Lands and under the control of the National Works Agency (NWA).

The Minister pointed out that the land was handed over to the National Road Operating and Constructing Company (NROCC) by the NWA to be incorporated into Highway 2000.
