The National Housing Development Corporation (NHDC) should make ready, some 269 residential lots in Hague/Cave Island in Trelawny, by the end of this year.
This follows Cabinet’s approval of a proposal for the implementation of infrastructure works on the property to be awarded to Buildrite Construction Company Limited at a cost of some $20.579 million.
Information Minister Senator, Burchell Whiteman, who made the announcement at the weekly Post Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House earlier today (Feb. 28) informed that the Hague/Cave Island housing development, an Operation Pride project, comprised approximately 11.5 hectares (28. 47) and would provide 269 residential lots.
The Minister explained that the lots would range in size from 325.28 square metres to 639.52 square metres with the average lot size being 428. 31 square metres. “The project will include general earthworks and the construction of roadways and drainage structures,” the Minister said, adding that the construction period should not exceed nine months.
The NHDC will fund the entire project.
