The 11th staging of Western Expo is scheduled for October 7 to 9, at the Cruise Ship Terminal, Montego Freeport, St. James.
A project of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the annual event is aimed at providing a platform for the showcasing of goods and services, and to promote the growth and development of trade and commerce in the western region.
‘Expo 2005’, which will be held under the theme ‘Montego Bay: Gateway to the Caribbean’, will see participation from a wide range of exhibitors from sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, financial services, information technology, tourism, art and crafts, education, services, retail and health.
Public Relations Officer for the event, Janet Silvera, who spoke at the press launch held yesterday (Aug. 31) at the Sunset Beach Hotel, said that for the first time, patrons to the event would be able to purchase items at bargain prices.
She said that the expo would be linked to celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of Montego Bay being awarded city status.
