Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. the Hon. Peter Phillips, opens the 2015/16 budget debate in the House of Representatives on Thursday, March 12. His presentation was done under the theme: ‘Strong Foundations for Growth and the Expansion of Opportunities’.

The Facts

  • The wage negotiations will be led by Minister with responsibility for the Public Service, the Honourable Horace W. Dalley and the chief technical negotiating team representing the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions led by Mrs. Helene Davis Whyte.
  • The Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) is also scheduled to meet with the Minister at 2:00pm.

Wage negotiations for the 2015/17 wage period are scheduled to commence at the Ministry of Finance and Planning on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 10:00am.

The wage negotiations will be led by Minister with responsibility for the Public Service, the Honourable Horace W. Dalley and the chief technical negotiating team representing the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions led by Mrs. Helene Davis Whyte.

The Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) is also scheduled to meet with the Minister at 2:00pm.

The Industrial Relations Unit will be engaged with approximately 37 bargaining units over this negotiating period.
