The format for “Legal Aid Saturday”, scheduled for this Saturday (January 23) at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, Hope Road, Kingston, has been finalised.
“Legal Aid Saturday” is being staged by the Legal Aid Council, an arm of the Ministry of Justice, to provide free legal advice to Jamaicans from all walks of life.
The event, scheduled to last three hours, will have presentations geared to provide information to attendees on a range of subjects, including Legal Aid Services in Jamaica.
The welcome will be delivered by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Senator the Hon. Dorothy Lightbourne. Presentations starting at 9:00 a.m., will last approximately twenty-five minutes, including a Question and Answer period.
According to Executive Director of the Council, Hugh Faulkner, it is seeking to educate the public about the work of the Council by targeting persons who may find it difficult to afford the full cost of consultation.
