The agency will also be giving away five grand prizes at the Jamaica 55 Grand Gala on Independence Day, August 6, at the National Stadium in Kingston.

The 55 devices will be given away randomly to persons across the country.

“We are turning up at random places across Jamaica; we just pop up and ask a question, and give away,” Chief Executive Officer of the USF, Suzette Buchanan, told JIS News.

“In discussion with the Minister, we thought that in observance of Jamaica 55, we should look at Jamaica’s technological advancement over the years, how we have evolved, and how much our mode of communication has changed, so we decided to ask 55 questions and give away the 55 devices,” she said.

She noted that her team has already given away devices in Spanish Town and Portmore in St. Catherine as well as Cross Roads in Kingston.

Ms. Buchanan said they will also be doing some giveaways on social media.

Additionally, persons visiting the USF booth at the Jamaica Independence Festival Village, at the National Arena in Kingston, will have a chance to win.

Upon visiting the booth, persons will be able to get information about the USF, its products and services.
