The Coordinating Committee of the National Partnership Council on behalf of the Chair, the Most Honourable Portia Simpson Miller and the members expresses deep sadness at the sudden passing of Mr. Francis ‘Paco’ Kennedy, CD.

Mr. Kennedy was a most faithful member of the Social Partnership body, serving between 2009 and 2014.

He always brought a constructive, practical perspective to the deliberations of the Partnership Council and was respected for the patriotic stance which he consistently displayed. Apart from his significant contribution to the Council meetings, he was always available to consult on issues to advance the growth agenda and to speak at regional forums aimed at extending the reach of the Partnership.

As an active member of a group (Acorn) which initiated bilateral informal dialogue between management and trade union leaders Mr. Kennedy has remained committed to the partnership principle, continuing vibrant participation within that group until the present, and supporting the Partnership Council whenever possible.

He, along with other private sector leaders, and representatives from Government, the Trade Union movement and Civil Society participated in the formalization of the Partnership for Jamaica Agreement signed a year ago.

The Council extends sincere condolences to his wife Marjorie and members of his family.  Jamaica has lost a true patriot.  They have lost the person at the centre of their lives.
