The Full Story

The Trelawny Lay Magistrates Association will be hosting its annual prayer breakfast, at Roy’s Villas, in Deeside, Falmouth, in the parish, on Thursday, March 11, under the theme, ‘Love Thy Neighbour as Thyself’.

The event, which is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m., will see Governor General, His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Howard Cooke, as a special guest, while Dr. George Simpson, Pastor for the Mt. Carey Baptist Church, in St. James, will be the Guest Preacher.

Chairman of the organization, Evelyn Spence, said the prayer breakfast was intended to bring citizens together to pray for unity “which will enable us to work toward a common goal”.

To that end, Mrs. Spence said all Justices of the Peace (JPs), Members of Parliament (MPs), the Mayor of Falmouth, Councillor Johnathan Bartlett and other councillors, as well as department heads, among other citizens in the parish, were invited to be a part of the occasion.

The Association Chairman said that proceeds from the event would go toward helping a basic school in the parish.
