Tourism Minister Heads Jamaica’s Delegation to Summit in Washington, D.C.

Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett will lead Jamaica’s delegation to the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Inaugural Tourism Summit from June 21-24 in Washington, DC.
Director General in the Ministry of Tourism, Carole Guntley; Director of Tourism, Basil Smith; Deputy Director of Tourism, Donnie Dawson; and President of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, Wayne Cummings are expected to accompany the Minister to the meeting, which will be held at International Trade Centre, Ronald Reagan Building.
The Tourism Summit will officially open on Sunday (June 22) and will bring together leaders from political, tourism, and investments communities in the Caribbean and the United States.
Among the highlights will be a special town hall meeting, which will feature a number of Caribbean Tourism Ministers including Minister Bartlett, who will address Caribbean nationals residing in Washington, Virginia and Maryland. A wide range of tourism-related topics will be addressed at this open forum.
Other events include a motivation brunch, trade exposition, and a workshop on small investments in tourism. A grand gala will be held on Monday, June 23, where a number of outstanding Caribbean hoteliers and nationals in the fields of entertainment, public service, literary arts, sports, communications, science and technology, business and finance will be presented with various awards.
