The Full Story

Work is being undertaken to upgrade the Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) portal to provide for a better user experience and facilitate ease of access to the various types of tax transactions.

This was disclosed by Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Dr. the Hon. Nigel Clarke, while opening the 2024/25 Budget Debate in the House of Representatives on March 12.

“On a scale of one to 10, user-friendliness is probably seven or less. We have heard the complaints from customers, and we intend to ensure that in the near future taxpayers have a better experience,” he said.

The Minister noted that the work will be undertaken in collaboration with e-Gov Jamaica.

“With the support of Minister Dana Morris Dixon, under whose guidance eGov Jamaica Limited falls… we will continue to engage with eGov Jamaica to redesign TAJ’s portal to facilitate ease of access to different tax types,” he said.

Tax Administration Jamaica operates as the country’s premier revenue-collecting agency.

The eGov Jamaica is the premier IT service provider for the Government’s revenue departments and agencies.
