Cabinet has approved a contract valued at $389.2 million to the Scientific Research Council (SRC) for the provision of Biodigester Septic Tanks (BST) for seven public health facilities.
This was disclosed by Minister with responsibility for Information, Senator the Hon. Sandrea Falconer, during Wednesday’s (February 12) Jamaica House press briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister.
She informed that the facilities identified for the sewerage treatment solutions are: Princess Margaret Hospital, St. Thomas; Percy Junor Hospital, Clarendon; Ulster Spring Health Centre, Trelawny; Fellowship Health Centre, Portland; Savanna-la-mar Hospital, Westmoreland; and the Noel Holmes Hospital and Lucea Health Centre in Hanover.
The project is to be carried out over a 10-month period.
