The Honourable Olivia “Babsy” Grange, Minister of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports, has expressed regret at the passing of Mr. Keith Shervington who up to the time of his death early this morning was a member of the Board of Directors of the Sports Development Foundation.
Minister Grange said Mr. Shervington, who died in his 91st year, “had been blessed with long life and devoted many, many of his years to sports, first as a wrestler and weightlifter and then as administrator.”

During the period, the Sports Minister said, the late Director of the SDF had accompanied many Jamaican teams to the Olympics and to many other international meets as manager or head of delegation and was the first person in Jamaica to be awarded the Olympic Order (Silver Grade) by the Internal Olympic Committee.
“Those who have been involved sports as well as many other Jamaicans will surely miss the work and company of this stalwart. On behalf of the Government, I offer my condolences to his family, friends and many associates.”
