Mr. Speaker, I wish to begin by thanking the people of Central St. Catherine. It has been my great pleasure to represent them in this House over the past twenty one years. We have come a far way together, and we will go farther still together — as a team involving some of the best Councillors in Jamaica.

To my dear Prime Minister — who celebrated his birthday yesterday — I wish to say thank you for the trust you have placed in me to lead the culture, gender, entertainment and sport portfolio.

I pay tribute to the entire team across the Ministry, including the Permanent Secretary, Board Members, Divisional Heads, Agency and Department Heads, line staff, my close protection officers and personal assistants, for their devotion and commitment — even to the point of being unfazed by the long hours I keep.

I wish to honour my family and friends, particularly my daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren, for their unwavering love and support at all times.
