The St. William Grant Park in downtown Kingston will be transformed into a shopping hub from July 25 to July 27, as the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) stages its annual ‘Downtown Sizzling Summer Savings’.

The three-day shopping extravaganza, staged in partnership with the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce and the Vendors and Higglers Association, will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. each day.

Making the announcement at Tuesday morning’s (July 9) monthly Council meeting, Mayor of Kingston, Senator Angela Brown Burke, informed that the venture forms part of ongoing efforts to re-brand downtown and stimulate business in the commercial district.

“Once again, downtown, and in particular, St. William Grant Park, will be transformed into a shopper’s paradise, as registered vendors will be accommodated in the park, while stores will offer massive discounts to shoppers,” she said.

Other attractions include a kiddies’ village and food court, and the shopping spree will culminate with a major concert sponsored by the Gleaner Company.

“It promises to be three days of fun-filled family entertainment and we invite everyone to come down and enjoy a safe and wonderful experience in St. William Grant Park,” urged Mayor Brown Burke.
