Strong support for Labour Day Activities in the West

Two hundred Jamaicans suffering from poor vision or blindness due to cataract disease are to benefit from free corrective surgery performed by Chinese ophthalmologists.

Residents of two towns in the parish of Trelawny are now enjoying new library facilities valued at nearly 27 million dollars. This was made possible through funding under the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Sugar Transformation Programme.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries will be acquiring additional Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, commonly called drones, to among other things stem illicit fishing in Jamaica’s marine space.

Approximately 2 million dollars will be spent to develop a recreational area and a new park for children and the elderly in Waterford, Portmore.

Two school libraries were opened in Westmoreland on May 8 by Education Minister, Rev. Ronald Thwaites and Agriculture and Fisheries Minister, Derrick Kellier.
