Though Jamaica has not experienced a tsunami in its recent history, the Office of Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management, still wants the public to be prepared in the event one does occur.

Consumer and business confidence in the economy remain positive, with both indices recording increases for the first quarter of 2019.
